A guide to your jap counter

Tap the large counter once for each completed repetition. Choose your own mantra or name, mala size, and daily goal.

Keep several mantras

Add a mantra with the + button. Each has an independent count. Switching mantras keeps the previous count exactly where you left it.

Start fresh without losing history

New session saves your current session and opens a new count at zero. In History, use Resume to continue an earlier session. Your daily and lifetime totals do not double when you resume.

Use auto mode

Start calibration, chant 5–10 repetitions, then stop the timer and enter how many you completed. Auto mode estimates subsequent repetitions at that pace. It does not listen to you or verify chanting. Calibration repetitions are not added automatically.

Auto mode pauses when you leave the app, lock the screen, reach a new day or complete 60 minutes. Review the estimate before saving it to history.

Understand your streak

Any day with at least one saved jap counts toward your practice-day streak, including accepted estimates. You have until the end of today to continue yesterday’s streak. Dates use the practice timezone in Settings.

Save a backup

In Settings, download an encrypted backup and choose a passphrase of at least 12 characters. Keep the file and passphrase somewhere safe. Restore previews the file and merges unique counts without duplicating history. A forgotten backup passphrase cannot be recovered.

Use it offline

After opening the installed production app online once, you can reopen it and count offline. Local changes show a saving status until the browser confirms storage. Clearing browser data removes device history, so keep a backup.
